Jan Cisek is an international expert in speed reading and study skills, co-author, and trainer with over 25 years’ experience helping more than 5,000 students and professionals worldwide, including those with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) such as dyslexia and ADHD, to maximise their academic and career potential. He is the co-author of two leading books on speed reading and learning, Spd Rdng: The Speed Reading Bible and Speed Reading Faster. Jan was the first PhotoReading instructor to be licensed in the UK in 2000 and has since taught PhotoReading and speed reading skills to thousands of people globally. He has studied and integrated accelerated learning, NLP, and systems thinking into his teaching, helping learners to use their intuition and creativity more effectively. He has presented at international conferences, including the 8th International Conference ‘Learning in Harmony’ at the University of Warwick, organised by the Society for Effective Affective Learning (SEAL), the 9th International SEAL Conference ‘Opening Minds’ at the King’s School, Canterbury, and the ANLP Conference in Northampton.
Jan is recognised for teaching practical, evidence-based techniques that improve reading efficiency, comprehension, memory, planning, and exam performance. He holds an MSc in Environmental Psychology and is a PhD researcher in Health Psychology, providing a strong academic foundation in how people learn, process information, and perform under pressure. A seasoned researcher, writer, and trainer, he has a proven track record of delivering high-impact learning and development programmes for individuals and organisations internationally. He is also an environmental psychologist interested in how learning is affected by the environment.
